Below you
will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions
regarding policies, procedures and general information. For more
information, please contact the office.
Q: When
is trash picked-up and when is recycling day?
Regular trash should be placed on your front porch or at designated
curbside locations between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM, Monday through
Saturday. There is no trash pick up on Sundays, or on the following
holidays: New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Large trash
items that are too big to be accommodated by the collection compactor
truck should be placed at the street side curb on Wednesday evening
or, on Thursday morning before 9:00 AM.
Recycling
should be placed in marked bins, which are placed at designated
curbside locations, on Tuesday afternoon, for Wednesday morning
pickup. Recyclable items include:
- Aluminum Beverage and Other Metal Cans;
- Corrugated cardboard (boxes must be broken down and flattened or they will be removed as trash rather than recycling);
- Glass Bottles and Jars
- Mixed Paper and Light Cardboard
- Newspapers and Glossy Inserts;
- Plastic Containers with Narrow Necks

old batteries, please drop them in the orange plastic container
outside the Firehouse at 31st and Abingdon Sts.

Q: What
is the Parking Policy for residents and non-residents?
All cars parked in Fairlington Villages off-street parking lots
are required to have a current parking sticker. There is no fee
to register a car. The vehicle owner should bring their car registration
(no more than two) and a copy of their settlement sheet or a current
rental agreement to the Management Office. There is a maximum
of two stickers issued per unit.
Fairlington
Villages parking stickers are valid for a full calendar year,
from January 1 through December 31. Renewal stickers are available
at no cost in the Management Office beginning in October. Reminders
are published regularly in the North
Fairlington News between October and December.
Please be
advised that cars without a current parking sticker will be towed
at the owner's expense. The current towing fee is $100.00. No warnings
are given.

Q: How
do I use the Pools and Tennis Courts around the community?
Pools and tennis courts are available for use by all residents
with a current Fairlington Villages ID card. These are available
in the Management Office for a $10.00 fee, and must be renewed
annually (free of charge).
There are
six pools located throughout the community. At the beginning of
each swimming season, the pool schedule and rules are announced
in the North Fairlington News.
This information is also posted at each pool and on the Community
Center Bulletin Board.
There are
13 tennis courts in Fairlington Villages. The main tennis courts,
located behind the Community Center, are lit until 11:00 PM. Other
Courts close at dark.
Both pools
and tennis courts prohibit animals, alcohol, glass, skateboards,
and roller skates. Children must be accompanied by an adult at
all times.

Q: What
do I do in case of a Noise complaint?
Noise complaints may be reported to the Fairlington Villages patrol
service. To reach the patrol service, dial their pager at 703-702-5752.
Enter your area code and phone number. Press the # key to send
your information to the dispatcher. Wait 5 minutes for a response,
then try again.
If you are
unable to reach the patrol service, please call the Arlington
County Police at 703-228-4040, or the City
of Alexandria Police at 703-838-4444.

Q: How
do I rent the Community Center?
Residents should complete the Community
Center Rental form and submit to the office. You may contact
the office first for date availability.
