Variance

Variance

The Variance Committee receives resident applications to make alternations to the external and internal appearance of a condominium unit or Townhouse. The committee reviews resident requests and provides recommendations to the Board of Directors. The committee also drafts Standard Policies to establish guidelines for residents who wish to change or install such elements as storm doors, exterior electrical outlets, exterior light fixtures or satellite dishes to name a few.

Any resident wishing to apply for a variance must complete the Variance Request Form and submit the form, with any accompanying documentation, to the office. The Variance Committee meets the third Thursday of each month (usually in the Community Center) and residents are welcomed to attend. The committee makes recommendations (approve or deny) to the Board of Directors at the next Board meeting (the following month on the first Wednesday). It is ultimately up to the Board of Directors for the final decision on any variance request. The resident will be notified in writing of the Board of Directors decision on the variance request after the Board meeting. Residents are reminded to keep this timeline in mind when considering renovation projects or home improvements. Please submit your requests at least one month in advance of your project.
